Normal rate of battery charge loss?

What is the normal rate at which the battery loses charge while in sleep mode?

My Macbook Pro (15" 2.16) loses about 2% over a few hours. So if I have it on the charger during work (so it's at 100%) and put it into sleep mode, when I use it at home a few hours later the battery reads 98%.
Is this normal?

I am a little paranoid after what happened recently and just want to make sure everything is ok.

Seems to mirror what my iBook G4 does, yes. there is some loss of charge in sleep mode. I once left it sleeping while I went away for a 10 days, and the battery had run flat by the time I got home.

perfectly normal....sleep mode is still 'on'. The computer needs power to keep the RAM refreshed and keep that white light at the front blinking.

If you want to have that extra 2% then turn the computer off or enable safe sleep (i.e. hibernate)

I never knew hibernation mode existed on Mac barton - thanks for the tip And it looks a lot classier than the crappy Windows effort.

That it does...you usualy only get to see it when the battery runs dead. To enable it is essentially a hack though. There are utilities out there that can make it as easy as clicking a checkbox (search google for "os x hibernate"
