I have an STM backpack, can't recommend it highly enough. I've been thinking about getting an STM loft as well... crumpler bags are ok, but that web site is enough to make me want to hit my head against the wall until the pain goes away

WTF is with the Crumpler bag website.. I can't see what spraying shit on the screen has to do with looking at bags, albeit a little bit amusing for a couple of seconds.

That one is the finest laptop bag I've ever owned. It's extremely versatile and still offers excellent laptop protection. It has a hard plastic shell that sits in the base of it and absorbs impact so the laptop's lower corners are protected in the event of a drop.

Get one of those Life Backpacks from Officeworks, i have the same problem with shoulder straps. Although they want me to get one of those bags for work so i can look like a geek.

These backpacks dont even look like a computer bag, they hold your iPod, Digital camera and even have a hole for the headphones to stick out!

It also has room for books and W/e at the front

However i cant seem to find a picture of one online (even at officeworks website), have a look around at the officeworks store for one.

IT has to be the best $60 i have spent on a computer bag

This is the incase bag i bought 1,5 years ago in silver.
Must say the black version would look so good with silver white or black notebooks.
Bag is 160 in apple store online. (was 99 1,5 years ago)

While killing a bit of time waiting to see a bike mechanic today, I saw a STM Sports 2 at the local "Good Guys" discount electrical store. It had $179 on the price tag. It was just what I needed so I stood around pathetically trying to get some service. Eventually I managed to ask a sales woman the best price she could do. She said $90, so I bought it. Get home and it appears to have a RRP of $129 and Streetwise are selling it for $109. Nevertheless I feel somewhat ripped-off. What a bunch of scum bags to use that old trick. I guess there are enough cashed-up idiots in "The Shire" for it to work.

It is a great bag though. It fits my 15" Powerbook in its STM glove perfectly in the bag's special insert.

Altho not specifically useful for your laptop I bought an STM bag for my 17" MBP - I got the Large Convertable (shoulder bag and backpack in one) specifically because it was small, thin and light so I wouldn't be able to cram too much crap into it - just the MBP, wireless mouse, my 160GB external laptop hard drive, eyetv and perhaps a few papers and discs. This way it isn't some huge bulky backpack which weighs a ton (like my previous laptop backpack) - in fact it ends up nice and close to the body when I'm using it as a backpack and it feels incredibly light - even with my 17" laptop in it - marvelous

I just got my Tucano Cobra for my new MacBook Pro 15", which fits the MacBook as well. I can't speak more highly of it than - it is bloddy fantastic, resonably priced too. Has all the compartments you wanted too.

Here's the link to Apple's Online Store, that's the only place I could find mine from - http://store.apple.com/133-622/WebOb....8.25.7.11.0.3

Cheers,
Ricky

I bought an STM Loft shortly after I got my iBook, and love it.
It looks great and has stood up to a LOT of travelling. It also holds a surprising amount of stuff for such a small bag. But the greatest thing is that I've only ever seen one other person with one in Newcastle
