Just got Macbook back from service. And when I opened the macbook up, I noticed plastic covering the whole area where all those holes are, like where the music or fan comes out. I can't seem to take it off. Why did they leave that on their? It wasn't there before!

Got a photo? Would love to see what your talking about. Maybe another person with a MacBook can post similar pic to show the difference between yours etc.

Take it off then.

It looks like they may have replaced bits of your macbook?

That's a classic blunder. Leaving the protective covering on the main vent for the system.

Red face

I recently had my MacBook (white) in for a repair (issue with the right arrow key not working unless you thumped it) at NextByte's Lane Cove service centre where they replaced the whole keyboard and surrounding "inside top". When I got it back it had a nice contact type clear plastic sticker covering the palm rests, which is good s I was previously suffering from slight discolouration. With a few snips on the scissors I removed the removal tabs so it can now stay and protect it from sweaty palms.

I also recently brought a 4mac keyboard skin from Streetwise which I need to keep dog hair out from the keys. It does the job but it makes typing a bit harder as you have to push more on the keys as there is more resistance (I'll get used to it soon). Now I just need my Booq cover to come (almost 2 months on order) and I'll be able to take my MacBook out into the wide world.
