I've just done a search but couldn't find anything specifically on Macbook upgrades and was wondering if anyone could possibly point me to the right direction of the cheapest RAM and HDD that you've seen. I'm looking to go straight to two 1gb RAM was gonna go two 512mb but decided to just go straight for the max so that way it's out of the way and I can be happy larry :P Also pls state where you've seen the cheapest Apple Care around for the Macbook. I know others are saying that if I change the HDD on my Macbook it doesn't void the warranty as it's Mac that made it easy to do this...is this a fact? So if I had to get repairs I wouldn't have to put it in it's standard form? Thanks!

with your new macbook it has been designed you have auser intercahngible hdd and ram so you can swap these out no problems without voiding the ram.

Streetwise is not always the cheapest but they have a good ram selector page so you can see exactly what you need - then google it for the best price

I've ordered two 1gb RAM sticks from Streetwise for my Macbook.

These were for $175 ea. Not the cheapest, I'm sure, but they come with lifetime warranty which is important when buying any RAM for your Macs. Provides you some protection if the RAM ends up being faulty, etc.

I'll get these in the post on Monday.

I ordered my MacBook with a 100gb HDD so I don't think I'll be upgrading that any further.

Um that ram says its "DDR2533 SDRAM" which is 533Mhz not 667Mhz, i think that is what they give you - check the macbook threads on whirlpool

Definitely 667Mhz - wouldn't work otherwise...

Well, it should work, but the testing I have done shows the MacBook to be very picky about the RAM installed and would not accept any speeds lower than PC5300.
