I've been scanning the other threads and the "anyone got a MacBook yet" replies, and there seems to be quite a few white MacBooks around now.
Has anything seen a black MacBook in Australia yet?
Still trying to decide whether it's worth the extra $300 to get black (oh yeah, and 20GB more storage :P ).
Pictures don't really tell the whole story. People in the US forums say it's a sort of rubberized matt black finish that's hard to capture in a photo, but very nice to hold.
(And of course it lets everyone know that you're rich/stupid enough to pay extra for a trendy colour.)
Really want to get a hands on to decide. Anyone know where?

Smartass! But you're wrong anyway... the Apple Australia website is actually hosted in the US. Type in www.apple.com.au/macbook and it will convert it to: http://www.apple.com/au/macbook/
:P

yes yes yes!!!!
apple centre in hurstville just got a demo model in today
i played with it just 15 mins ago!
it is gorgeous, im really glad i went with black now.
it wasnt hot, and if i held my ear realllly close to it i could hear a faint buzzy sound, but it was plugged in to mains power too and under display light things.
its alot thinner than i thought it would be, and the trackpad IS huge like people have been saying.
the screen is gorgeous, its no where near as glossy as my fujitsu ultraportable though, but it is really nice
squeeee

Did you manage to see "Bernard" at the comedy festival in Melbourne? Whilst on stage he drank 3-4 glasses of wine, a beer, a cup of tea and smoked half a pack of cigarettes....

The MYER or DJ at Sydney's CBD (the pitt st mall) has one black demo arrived today as I just went there a couple of hours ago
Played it around.. love it..
But..yah, you can clearly see the fingerprint, however, I tried it myself, which isn't that bad..I think it was too many people didn't take good care, it's like you have to press it hard or not touch it gently..
I wonder if Apple would release some sort of swipe for a black MB..
for my ibook, after a couple of months, I can see the dirt around trackpad.
keyboard isn't too bad as I don't understand why some people don't like it, and I like the screen a lots!! (you should see it yourself before making any decision.. It's me, hey..you might feel differently anyway~)

Looks like a few stores have them. Hurstville is close.
Are these demo only or do they have them in stock to buy as well?
(Think once I see black, it'll be "here take my credit card and take the extra $300 before I change my mind I'll feel the pain later!")
