Can anyone who uses Westpac Internet Banking help me? Once again i have tried to transfer money to an account in another bank but it will not allow it. You type in the details but when you click to proceed, it just blanks out. I have tried unblocking pop-up ads and enabling cookies but no luck. What am I doing wrong? I can use Bpay and also transfer money between my Westpac accounts and pay Westpac credit card bills but can't pay into another bank. Really annoying. I anyone else finds it a breeze, please tell me how. Clifft

You might need to register for the service with your bank. With my bank, I need to go one step further and register the external BSB and bank account details before I do the transfer. Talk about security conscious!

some internet banking things only allow transfers of certain value, make sure you haven't exceeded that limit.
just a thought.

Also try another web browser, IE may be helpful in such an area.

Most banks require you to register to enable "pay anyone" capabilities. This can involve sending you a code through the snail mail.

I've never had trouble with Westpac in either IE or Safari.

Any of my customers who have troubles with interntet banking on both PC and Mac, i just get them to temporarily use IE to use net banking and then as soon as their finished close it off and forget it ever happened hehe.

Majority of the time that seems to work.

From what ive found, Firefox on PC and Safari on OSX seem to have a few problems with some banks. Can't think of the names of the banks now. They werent overly well known ones though.

Matt.

Clifft,

The Pay Anyone feature on Westpac's online banking does not work under Safari (any version) - as you have noted, you are able to enter the payee details, but when you click to submit the payment, the details do not appear in the 'hidden' area below the payment form. I have not been able to resolve this issue under any version of Safari or OS X.

The only workaround I have is to use Internet Explorer to submit Pay Anyone requests, as they work correctly under that browser.

Westpac is infact the only reason I still keep IE installed on my Macs.

Happy to hear from anyone who has managed to get this feature to work on Safari.

Thanks, guys for your help. it seems that Westpac has gone el cheapo and produced a basic internet banking service. The ANZ can do it well so there's no excuse. To produce a site that works properly wouldn't cost much and with their profits it isn't as though they can't afford it!!! It says a lot about the philosophy of the bank. I will continue to use them just as long as I find it convenient but the moment that IE won't work due to a Microsoft upgrade that isn't Mac compatible, I will just switch banks. Clifft

Pay Anyone works fine for me. It's Pay Overseas that doesn't work in Safari. Fine in Firefox though for all functions.

I use this feature on Westpac Internet Banking regularly. I'm using Netscape on OS X. I've never had a problem with it.

It'd been months since I used Pay Anyone on Westpac but I didn't recall having any problems with it. Just tried it again then and had no problems (OS X 10.4.2, Safari 2)

Hi,

Can't vouch for anyone else but I use ANZ - Pay Anyone and ANZ - BillPay every fortnight with my Mac and have no problems what so ever(except I use dial up and wish I could get broadband, oh the time).

The ANZ service seems to work fine(OS X 10.4.2 - Safari 2.0) and has done for ages, even though they supposedly don't support Mac.
