Take it back to where you bought it and tell them the cover keeps falling off.
Alternatively, use some glue and/or tape.

I really don't think there are many Apple "duds". Are you sure you're doing it right?

Maybe for you, but that's not the experience a lot of us have. Build quality is very good. Some people have more trouble with things than the average person. Australia is not a dumping ground.

have you pushed it all the way in?

The little latch should lock into place.

was the latch in place perfectly when you bought it??? There is no need to open the mouse up at the batteries came preinstalled.

That said.... take it back.

If you are not happy with any apple products (because you believe they "dump" them in aus) then I would suggest going and buying a windows machine and accessories.

Default No problems here

Battery cover firmly held in place. Actually I didn't even touch it.

Magic Mouse it the best mouse I have used, ever, despite not having a middle button (yet, I hope). The construction, form, and function suits me fine. Helps make the PC, oops, mac, a joy to use.

How is everyone finding the battery life? i haven't used a wireless mouse since 4 years ago with the apple mighty mouse.

It seems to be at 25% after 3 weeks of use? i do use it maybe 12-18 hours a day, but still seems odd... maybe some sort of fancy battery will help? (still using the included batteries).

Got the mouse from Chermside opening and I must say I think its Bl**dy Fantastic, the low profile is just great its so much better for your hand, wrist arm, and shoulder. Because the fingers and palm sit flatter its very good. I do sports medicine and I will be recommending this to my clients with rsi, carpel tunnel etc...GET ONE :-)

Well I have had mine for nearly a week now, and I think it's a damn good mice, and has taken place of my Logitech VX nano, which was itself quite a nice little mouse.

It's one of the lowest profile mice I have seen, which I always thought was good for portability with a notebook. What's the point of having a thin notebook when you have a much bulkier mice? Although I have to say, with the glass trackpad of the newer macbook pro's, I don't really ever bring a mouse away with me anymore, its only for when I dock it to my desk and use an external monitor, mouse and keyboard.

I absolutely love love love the one finger scrolling, and the momentum scrolling with it. That feature alone make it by far the best mouse I have ever used. I am starting to remember to use the two finger swipe in safari, and although it's not completely natural, I still find it easier than moving the mouse to the back button. As a side bonus, it is also reminding me to use 3 fingers on the macbook trackpad, as I never used to use it.

I should note I have also used the command type code to increase the acceleration and speed of the mouse, and it now feels perfect. Before this, it didn't quite feel as good to move around as my logitech I had before. I hope Apple implement something official into the mouse options to fix this.

I have also not had any problems with left and right clicking. It seems perfectly natural, and have pretty much never clicked incorrectly.

I find it glides very nicely, however like some people I have noticed, although it glides fine, it does make a bit more noise on my desk when moving around than my Logitech. And it also looks beautiful. Super next to my Apple wireless keyboard.

So yeh basically I am sold, would definitely recommend them.

Ollie
