I didn't really understand your post, but I'm going to take a punt anyways and suggest that you need a Mini-DVI to whatever the projector has (probably VGA, but if could be DVI or even HDMI) cable.

Cable ends are described as male or female (to work it out, let your imagination run wild . . . )
![]() The MacBook has a female mini-DVI socket. You'll need a mini-DVI (male) to DVI (female) adaptor (see Apple store). You'll need a DVI cable (male at both ends) to connect to both the projector and MacBook. In general, most devices have female sockets, and need male-to-male cables. Unless you have an extension cable, which is male-to-female. PS: I've assumed you've got DVI on the projector.
