Smile Wireless Routers

Hi All,
Just brought myself a Dlink wireless router today and plug it and away I went in geting straight on the net using Airport. I had done a search on what ws the best way to go like looking using Apple Airport Extreme Base Station or upgrading my existing cable modem to a wireless cable modem.

The cost of both of these methods was a bit rich compared to just buying a Wireless Router.

Airport Extreme Base Station was $249.00 Australian Dollars and the Wirelees Cable Modem was the same price.

The DLink Wireless Router was only $100.00 Australian Dollars.

Hope you all can see that it pays to shop around than buy the first thing you see and end up regretting it later on.

Cheers

hello and welcome

Dlink are crap. A bit more research might have yielded the airport express as a viable option - it's $129. I'm not suggesting it cause it's Apple, I'm suggesting it cause it beats the pants off the dlink.

$100 isn't a good price either; if it's just a wireless router then I've seen DLinks for $60 or less at JB.

I believe the axiom is "quality is remembered long after price is forgotten" !

Make sure you enable encryption (WPA2-PSK is good!) on the dlink so nosy neighbours don't steal your cable!
