XBOX 360 using iMac wireless to connect to internet

Hey guys Im new here,

I have a fairly technical question which Im sure youve probably come across.

I just got a new XBOX 360 pro console last week and my friend jazzdogg informed me I am able to connect my xbox to my iMac and bridge the ethernet and wireless connections in order to use the wireless to access the internet.

Now, I have a Belkin F5D7633 router, and I am with TPG. I have tried various settings the past couple of days and it has an IP, but whenever I hit DNS on the connection test it always fails. jazzdogg thinks it may be TPG's invisible proxy.

My question is, is someone able to hold my hand (lol) and walk me through this arduous process? I have connected it directly to the router upstairs and its all fine, its just the bridging the connections part that has got me stumped.

Im using Leopard with all latest updates installed. Thanks so much in advance for your help!

Usually you turn on Internet sharing in the sharing system preferences. Then share from Airport to Ethernet.

You've probably already tried that: shrug.

So far from what I'm reading this is a bug in Leopard... there has to be a way around it though!

ok I worked around the leopard issue (did some terminal commands from another post) and its automatically getting the IP from DHCP. All thats stopping me now is the DNS failing on the test.

Yeah, it took me a while to get my Macbook to share its Airport connection via ethernet to the 360, but I eventually got it working. It was the DNS that caused me the most problems too.

I used this tutorial: Connecting an Xbox360 to Xbox Live via OSX | Tutorial Ninjas

It should work.

Edit: Now that I think about it, I remember doing some kind of 'dig' command in the Terminal as well, but can't remember why.

yeah the dig command in terminal is to find out your IP and DNS addresses as far as I know.

Yeah, I thought so. I think that was a step in another tutorial. But I'm fairly sure that tutorial ninjas one should work. I had my Xbox running off the Macbook's connection for a few weeks until my wireles adaptor arrived.
