Invites for Private Beta's

i've said it before, i'll say it again, and hopefully this time it'll stick.

When a new pointless social network opens, or a new web based app starts, and its in private beta, we should have the rule that person a offers an invite to the next dude that posts (person b), person b then gives an invite to the next dude and so on.

that way, you can keep your invites for your real life friends, or friends on other social networks, but everyone on mactalk is guaranteed an invite.

thoughts?

When a new pointless social network opens up, why would you want an invite?

Im with fulltimecasual on this one, too many pointless spam pushing social networks..

However some people can't live without them so why not have stickied topic dedicated to these feral and nuisance networks , which the OP / Mods can edit with the invite details and will be cleaned up after they go out of beta.

Anyone but me please!

to reserve your username in case the social network turns out to be useful.

i'm sure as more people now 'get' twitter, they're kicking themselves that their preferred username is no longer available.

I guess.

But rules are kind of important in a social contract.

Anyhoo, this is my first post from the mobile site, and the very cute Spanish bug is "quote de fulltimecasual."

I think that bug rocks. Keep it.
