360, only because i don't have a PS3. Otherwise, it'd probably be the PS3 Version.

I have a 360 and not a PS3 so my decision has already been made. Is it true that the 360 version is going to be supported by new episodes whereas the PS3 version might not be?

I'll be getting PS3 because I can get it uncensored and half the AU price online.

I bought my PS3 primarily as a Blu-ray Disc player, but have loved some of the cheap PSN games like Pain and High Stakes Poker. Looking forward to Civilization (sic) Revolution, which I suspect will be much better on the PS3, but I'm talking out my rear end...

I'm getting the PS3 version because I have a PS3 and my friends who I'd like to play with online have PS3s. Region free is also good, so I can import it and online play for PS3 is free. _b

PS3 version, simply because the AUS one is being censored (I don't care how it's being censored, the fact it is at all annoys me). I'd get the 360 version if the overseas version of GTA4 on 360 worked on an Aus console - the PS3 version has no region coding, so will work fine on an Australian PS3.

Firstly we're still a bit confused about the censoring - OFLC say it's not censored yet the age (and only the age that I've seen so far) say it is.

Similarly, you can get the R18+ version from NZ, which is the same region as .AU

I bought a 360 (and then the television) as the 360 version is supposed to have the better content. We even spoke about this on the podcast (although I t hought Anthony was at that point leaning the 360 way?)

Further, to buy a whole console, I think the xbox is the better of the two, games wise. The PS3 doesn't have much exclusive content yet (but bring on GT5 and MGS and I think we'll see a big spike in PS3 sales)

For my money the xbox was the far better value, although I kinda plan on getting a PS3 down the track too for Blueray and GT5.

Yep, if you only have a 360, then just get it for 360. But I have both, so I may as well get it for PS3 and avoid censoring (and get it cheaper). If the 360 version does get some actual useful downloadable content, I'll just buy the game for 360 and sell my PS3 version :P

Rockstar confirmed they submitted/are submitting a censored version to the OFLC. The OFLC hasn't censored it, they only rate what they are provided.

You're right though, no one knows yet what was censored. The point is, they did self-censor knowing what the backward Australian (thanks to South Australia) ratings system is like. On a matter of principle, I'm buying import - it's not about missing out on some pointless story sideline.

ps3. I dont give a shit about the censoring though. I dont own either console yet and the PS3 is much more appealing to me then the 360 now that HD-DVD is dead

I can't be bothered about the censorship, though. It's still gonna be a tonne of fun. Rockstar wouldn't censor their own game to the point where gameplay is lost.

I am with iSlayer. We need a Bluray player, and the PS3 will allow us to play media discs and well play games.

Atleast we can get some use out of the unit until which time better standalone units come out in a year or two time.

In the meantime, I get to play some nice games.

But would like one for Bluray and games like MGS. I think the PS3 need some time to get better titles in the market.

I've read also that it's harder for developers to make games for PS3, which would explain the slow release of good games. But like all new hardware it takes a while for new, good titles to come out.

For me GTAIV has been one of the most anticipated games i've been waiting for ever. The censorship being mentioned - hope it isn't to bad for the 360 version

Does anyone here read EDGE magazine? Current April issues has a great interview with the creator of the GTA series and director of Rockstar North. Goes over the whole series, how it started, the influences and of course GTAIV - very good serious mag for the video game industry.

Yes, it's quite a good article on the whole (post GTA3) series. And some excellent screens. It's gonna look incredible.
