50" plasma

Am in the market for one. Currently looking at the Panasonic 70A for around $2800. Anyone have any recommendations?

That's a pretty good buy..... For plasma, Pioneer, Pana, and Hitachi are still the best. go to dtv forums for more info.

As nice as it is to have a huge screen consider the power consumption of these things. Plasma's are hungry buggers.

Got a Panasonic 50" earlier this year - it's been brilliant. Highly recommended. Not sure which model you are looking at - it's worth getting the one with the HD tuner built in.

Not sure if it helps but I have had a 50" Pioneer HD plasma for about 20 months now (I use it for normal TV wathcing, movies and Xbox 360) and it is excellent. At the time when I researched it all it was a tossup between the Pioneer (which were a more expensive but apparently had slightly better PQ and also included 5 year warranty and installation) and the Panasonic.
