Wii Remote Jacket-- free.

just found this on nintendo website, know theres a few of us around.

Australia, Melbourne, October 2, 2007 - Nintendo is committed to ensuring an innovative and unique game play experience on the Wii. To help players adapt to this new style of play and provide additional protection we have created a protective cover for the Wii Remote - the "Wii Remote Jacket".

We recommend to fit the "Wii Remote Jacket" to the Wii Remote in order to enhance your grip and provide additional protection if the Wii Remote is accidentally thrown or dropped during game play.

The "Wii Remote Jacket" is being offered free of charge to all Wii owners.

To request a "Wii Remote Jacket", contact NINTENDO CUSTOMER SERVICE on (03) 9730 9822 Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm (EST)

Please have your Wii console serial number ready when you phone.

Any idea on how many you can get? I have 3 Wiimotes, and would thus love to get 3 of these covers!

I had two jackets arrive in the mail today. After fitting, it seems to make the remote quite a bit larger. I'll be giving it a test run later on tonight.

Got mine yesterday, love the chunky, padded top end - very fun and squishy to hold!

Do you reckon these will be included in all new Wii's from now on? What prompted Nintendo to release their own Wiimote covers?

I think Nintendo may just be being cool. It's a nice gesture to all the people who've bought a Wii and Nintendo aren't exactly doing too badly from Wii's and DS's.

yeah they're included with all new wii's. probably to prevent the 0.001 percent of people who've destroyed tv's throwing their wiimotes at them, but also as a sly bit of viral marketing...

"Its so fun we have to protect you from it!!!"
