Spotted this on S2 of Dexter and quite like the look of it. Anyone know of a local distributor? (Found one on ebay too)

Having been looking at bags to replace my current Crumpler, the one I have fits the MB 13" and and the power cord, mouse etc, but would like something with a bit more room.
Looked at the Crumpler Hee-Goer yesterday, tons of space and pockets and has 'The Dog Leg', so you can wear on your back as well, very nice, pricey at $190 though.
Oh and the new catalogue for Crumpler is a pack of cards with the bags printed on each card, the girl in the store said she would give me a new brochure and handed me a pack of cards, then it dawned on me, very clever.

I'm thinking of getting the customary barge. It's $295 from the crumpler site but am wondering if anyone's had a better deal than that.

Not as nifty, but excellent quality and design would be an Eagle Creek bag. If you can find a proper bag shop that sells them, you'll be in luck. They mainly do travel luggage but if you're lucky you'll find somewhere selling their computer carrying bags.
I ended up getting a Customary Barge (2nd-hand from another MacTalk'er) and the quality and design are first-rate. I understand that the price includes a lifetime warranty.

When lugging my geek bag, as you put it, items around, i use my old trust Crumpler Crisp Suit... padded over the shoulder bag, HEAPS of pockets, and after 4 years, is like NEW
every day, for just laptop and camera (DSR) i can cram it (JUST!) in my barney rustle.
the site is quirky, but when shopping for bags, i follow crumpler's advice, take all the shit you want to put in the bag to their store and test fit it in their bags..
oh, and wait for beer for bags day, my last 5 crumpler bags all were bought with beer

Lowepro have what you want as well...
actually they have a half dozen different designs of what you want
Lowepro - Notebook & Camera
another brand is compuSAFE
what i like about the compuSAFE bags is that they provide a whole bunch of detachable padded bags which can go inside the main bag...
anyway - good luck

Anyone got any recommendations for a bag that can hold at least the following:
- 13" MacBook/MacBook Air & power brick
- 2.5" portable HDD
- PSP or DS Lite
- 3G USB "soap on a rope" modem
- keys/pen/USB key
- small digital camera (IXUS 75)
- a medium size paperback & a magazine
- a DVD/CD or two
- various cables (iPod, USB x2, ethernet, usb extension)
and is a backpack and doesn't look dorky and will like having 1" badges pinned to it
P.S please don't mug me

I've got a crumpler backpack and its awesome. Fits everything (13" mb, iPod, HD, Diary, Uni books and folders, phone, wallet, camera and lunch) and it comfy. I know you said no backpacks but "the salary sacrifice" from crumpler was well worth it!
*oh and you can pick em up alot cheaper in the forums - its where i got mine!

Rushfaster is having a 20% off deal but am not sure what to do!
Anyone own this? I've always wanted their backpack, but am wondering what people think of it. It comes out slight cheaper with the 20% off than the Crumpler Customary Barge.

Hmm. Just got back from the Crumpler store. The store person recommended the Whickey and Cox instead....and I am convinced.
If it is between the Boblbe-e and the Whickey and Cox, which would you guys choose?

I don't think Crumpler bags are overpriced. They are value for what you get. I paid my Wack-o-Phone $195 about 5 years ago and it's still in VERY good condition. The quality of those bags is just brilliant.
