Hotmail finally gone to 1GB?

I was checking my email today, and noticed that the measly 250mb had been changed slightly. Now it reads as 1gb instead. Odd - who else has this?

(NB I use Hotmail for MSN and that's about it)

Hmmm...I didn't think Hotmail even existed anymore. But anyway, they're only a year or so behind everyone else, yet their interface still sucks.

(You realise you don't need to use Hotmail for MSN, right?)

I've had this address for ages anyway, so I use it for my junky stuff and my other Gmail for my real stuff.

BTW, I haven't managed to find out how to set up MSN w/o hotmail, although I spent a grand total of 5 minutes to find out.

I'm so sorry.

Would you like a gmail invite?

MSN without hotmail: http://www.passport.net <-- sign up any old email address there.

That and the riddance of the bloody "Exploring Windows:" spam you can't get rid of no matter how many times you try to tell it that it's JUNK.

It DOES have one if you were selected for the trial for Windows Live Mail beta. I have so few emails in my hotmail account so I've never used it but it's there...

Ok, I went to passpot dot net and it was about as helpful as a bucket of rats.

Any ideas how i am supposed to use that for a Jabber msn transport?

I've got 2GB and have for quite a while. My account dates back to 1995 and I don't use it anymore except for one recalcitrant friend who can't seem to grasp that I've moved on.

I think they have progressively moved people up over the last year or so to 250MB>1GB or 2GB.

Is this whole Windows Live thing free? Or do you have to pay for it?

I'm still using hotmail - Windows Live Mail specifically. Of course, the experience would be much better if I had used IE, because it's not fully compatible with Safari. I've been using the same account since 1999. Now it's up to 2gb, it has an embedded search function and what nots. Lotsa new features.

However, I use Mail to import my email anyway, so it doesn't matter. Hehe.

I don't think it's even possible to change your password on Safari!
