Goto the main screen.
At the lower right hand corner is an mail icon, click it
On the lower left, second from the left there is a pen and paper icon, click it.
On the right hand side of the screen is an address book, click it
You Wii number is on the front page of the address book.
Now in order to add friends you have to enter the other persons Wii code and they have to enter your Wii code. So it might be a suggestion to go through this list and PM people you Wii code.

Just to remind everyone here.
For the Wii friend codes to work both people have to enter to other person Wii code into their address book.
Simply adding a person to your address book will not work. The exchange has to be mutual.
For example, if darksplat and I want to be friends I have to enter his Wii code (7209 0535 2983 2966) into my address book and he in turn has to enter my Wii code (3898 8658 2978 5484) into his address book. Only then will we be able to communicate with each other.

Noticed a few threads popping up about the Wii so I thought I would give this a bump for anyone who hasn't added their codes yet.
That and also I have a collection of friend vouchers in Metroid Prime 3 that I want to give away and receive (I really want that bobble head for my space ship.)
