Telstra's 3g network. Wireless mac solutions?

Hi chaps

A company who i work for have been enjoying our minimax usb wireless adaptors. So much so, that we have three of them in the company - all running off of macbook pros.

The Minimax works via CDMA, and I'm told that when Telstra go 3g they will update these devices to a unit similar to this one. Which is where the apparent issue is... That card is PCMCIA, and the Macbook Pros only have a mini port for one of those.

When Telstra go 3g, what options are there for mac wireless connectivity?

Spoke to a couple of techs at Telstra yesterday and it will be an other PCMCIA Card for NextG to replace the CDMA Card or Minimax we currently have. But I was also told because of the amount of interested Telstra is getting there is a USB NextG on the drawing board, and they filled out a expression of interest letter for me.

I would suggest anyone else looking at a USB option to call Bigpond technical support and put in your interest.

Cheers.

I'm surprised you didn't come straight to me with this one, Disko. Link to Maxon's development blog. We're hoping we'll have some NextG USB devices by around Christmas / New Year.

I thought of that, then i figured that we may as well have a thread on it so others can find the info via search.
