Default Wired 4DVD card

Is it good for anything?

Came out of a Sawtooth that was in use as a video kiosk. I'm assuming it's a hardware MPEG decoder (real magic chipset) which would have been handy in the days of OS 9...probably not much use these days though.

It has digital audio out and TV out as well as VGA passthrough. No cables though. If it's no good I'll chuck it.

It's an MPEG2 accelerator for DVD playback - useful for lowly G3 PCI machines under OS 8/9 (not X). The output quality of these cards is also much better over standard TV-out on most graphics card. Don't chuck it - someone would want it (eg. me!).

Yours then of you want it...there is also a serial number on the back which the sticker instructs me not to lose. I can only assume that's for some included software or something (which I don't have).

edit: It would appear that software for OS 9 is still available....can't test to see if it works with the card or not though
