Old news I know as it was announced in January, but as it will likely launch this month in the states I got to thinking is this the reason the Mighty mouse has not been launched in Bluetooth?
Whilst Apple denied Microsoft the right to use the Apple logo on the Apple key (bit childish I thougt) it will work the same as any Apple keyboard. The mouse of course will be two button.
With Logitech just launching a Mac Only keyboard and mouse wireless set it all seems to point to Apple gaining market share and making it worthwhile for Microsoft and Logitech to invest in making Mac Only products.

If it wasn't an ergo keyboard I would consider it. Though I'm glad they have produced it - we need more Mac-only keyboard/mousing combos on the market. The s530 is the only other decent set that comes to mind. And whilst Apple have a great bluetooth keyboard (on which Im currently typing ), all their mice suck...

wow that seems really insulting and stupid at the same time. first people move to macs to get away from microsoft. so other than office, what reason would we have to do business. and its insulting because it seems as though they're trying to say that no matter what we do they can still get us to give them money. and i contradicted my self......

And Logitech keyboards have proper "apple" logos (and the command symbol) on the apple key too.
(as far as I can tell by looking at the keyboard right in front of me)
Looking at the M$ offering, I'm not surprised Apple won't let the use the logo...
... what company in their right mind would want to be affiliated with *that*

Oh that is such a clumsy looking keyboard! Soo tokenMicrosoft..! No other manufacturer even comes close to Apple's clean, elegant and stylish lines.
Go Apple!

why did microsoft even bother.
wouldnt it be better for them to just release better mac drivers and maybe even some special keys that just clip on in place of the current windows keys?
mey, my current keyboard is great, and its MS, i dont care that its got windows keys on there, the drivers even allow you to swap the keys around and reprogram them. much better than the apple keyboard.

Wow, I must say that I'm a little shocked by some of the posts in this thread:

This strikes me as particularly naive. I would wager that a lot of people may be trying to move away from Microsoft Software due to bugs, security issues or whatever but to have the attitude that all microsoft products are evil and insulting to the mac users' 'holy presence' to such an extent that they shouldn't even be offered as an option seems really short-sighted. I mean, here we're talking about a keyboard, a consumer product that has effectively remained the same for over a couple of decades and it's being called an insult merely because of who made it or because it doesn't have the apple logo on it. And to add to this, hypocrasy features as well with the admittance that microsoft products developed for the mac are not insulting if they're necessary (office).

I really cannot see this development by microsoft as anything but positive. Here, a company brings to the table another option for consumers, filling a gap that is currently gaping, namely that of a bluetooth keyboard/mouse combo that matches the apple design to some extent and features a modern two-button mouse with a lot of features and it's being called a wasted effort. If we went the apple route for cordless input devices the only option there is a keyboard with no shortcut keys and a one button mouse that is uncomfortable to use (design modelled on a bar of soap) and outdated (no laser engine, no back/forward buttons, no tilt wheel).
Sorry about this guys but I'm just getting a little tired of the apple is awesome, microsoft will contaminate us attitude around here. Sure, I like macs as much as the next guy. Their design is unparalleled, they look great and come with awesome secure software but the company that is apple is not divine, it does make mistakes and many of its products do have flaws. Can't we keep an open mind and look at all the options available before denouncing a companies products as insulting and a waste of time?
Well, that's my rant over.
Daniel
