nope
but i would stay away from non major phone brands
usually their interfaces are clunky and poorly implimented.
each to their own though

True. It does look nice and simple though. I hate complicated and busy looking mobiles.

NEC being a Japanese company, I'd say there's a good chance it's not bad. If it's actually made in Japan it'll likely be very good.

I have a NEC phone. I find the interface is fantastic - very intuitive and a breeze to navigate long menus. That said, it is very slow takes about 2 seconds to respond to almost everything. But I have an old model, I would think the new ones are faster.
They're not very compatible with Mac are they? Mine certainly isn't. Also took me hours to get it set up on Windows and it only worked the first time.

one of my friends had the first 3g phones from 'three'. they were those giant flip NEC ones with a qwerty keyboard.
they would ALWAYS drop out, and half way through a text message it would get so slow responding to key presses.
she wasnt impressed with it at all and in the end told three to stick it and got them to cancel her contract cause of the problems she had from it.
granted that may have been a one off, but i dunno...id be cautious

my dad had the same phone mainframe's friend had. it is a piece of crap.
although in its defence, the dropping out issue back then was mostly because 3 had bad coverage.
definitely try before you buy warren21. how much is that phone? you may be better off with another brand.

the old NECs from 3 were crap, no doubt.
but the newer ones should be better now. the interface will need some getting used to (as with any other phone).
try it out before you buy it. see how much you like it.
it is sexy though.

In my experiences the NEC interface has always been very nice to use.

iawtc. :P
I've always found NEC's phones to be absolutely fantastic - and I've had the pleasure (*rolls eyes*) of working for Sony Ericsson and Motorola - from a end user P.O.V., though, I've found LG phones to be best.
Not hugely sold on benQ-Siemens... bland boxes with no flair whatsoever.

the siemens sk65 is the best phone i've ever used. and being a phone dealer once, i've used plenty of other phones. still, it can't be beaten, yet.
can't really give input from the newer NEC models, but as u can see from the feedback from other users, seems to be heading towards a positive direction.

I bought that exact phone ( white one ) from myer three weeks ago. $179. i only bought it because it looked very simplistic, and to use the telstra 1c messages off it. havent even made a phone call off it yet :P.
The menus are great. and the keypad hasa great feal to it.
BE WARNED extremely easy to scratch in the sense that i dropped mine off dinner table onto carpet and behold scratched screen. . but hey, it's a great little phone. i don't regret buying it.
