Hi, I've got an older model Macbook with an Intel GMA 950 graphics card. I'm using Windows XP on Boot Camp and can run some games on it. However, I've been trying to get a game called Titan Quest (isometric hack and slash) to run. It technically runs OK on medium settings (no lag or anything), except for one problem; none of the ground textures (or textures of anything really) load except for those that initially load with the game. Everything without a texture is either black or gray.
I'm almost certain that this is a VRAM issue - glitches like this have been mentioned before and it's turned out that the textures simply aren't being cached in the VRAM. There's no texture corruption, because if I move to a location with missing textures, save and load back in, then all of those textures are loaded...until I move around to another part of the map.
For some reason Boot Camp likes to make my card run with only 64mb of VRAM (when the smallest texture setting in the game is 128). I know this card is capable of 224mb, but even updating the drivers to use the latest Intel ones doesn't work. I've seen solutions to this, saying that removing all drivers and then applying the Intel ones will fix that, but even if I do that, there's no option in the Intel GMA graphics options to change VRAM used (i.e. aperture size)!
Normally I'd just change it through the BIOS, but Boot Camp doesn't have a BIOS! So I can't find any way at all to change the aperture/VRAM size.
Does anyone know how to do this? Is there a way to force Boot Camp to let me change it? Maybe there's a certain Intel driver that has more options than the latest one? I can't seem to find any more solutions, so I'm really hoping someone here will know. I would be very grateful for any assistance.
Thank you in advance
