Default Is the Sims 3 available for Mac yet?

I've seen it advertised for PC. And I have it on my ipod!! Now, can I get my full fix by putting it on the MBP?

Bah. I'll be buying it tomorrow.

I look forward to pushing my sims down flights of stairs and having cross generational love affairs in burning houses.

Art imitating life. I've pre-ordered. Hopefully Australia Post will be kind to me tomorrow.

kudos to EA for releasing it on Mac / PC single disk (taking a leaf out of Activision / Blizzard's book)

They've been handing those out at JB HiFi too. They're meant to be given away with PC game purchases but (at the Modbury store at least) anyone who asks gets one.

Really? Does it use the same files or does it have two lots on the same disc but separated? Never seen this before (but then I've never bought any games for my mac).

It's a DVD - the whole game fits double installers.

So I'm not up on sims but can you have gay relationships and make them do all sorts of freaky stuff? How family un/friendly is it?

Yes to the gay relationship.

No to the freakyness.

They duck under the covers and laugh a lot.

Although some of the new abilities have certain sims eating dirt off the ground much to the amusement of those around them. So I guess if you were a dirt fetishist it would be pretty hot.

Can anyone who has installed this for Mac comment further on their experience please.
I have read somewhere else that it didn't look as good or run as fast on the Mac. But when they installed it on Windows via bootcamp on the same machine it looked and ran much better. I am going to install it tonight and I'm trying to decide which way to swing.. I'd prefer it to be on my Mac of course but if its going to run better on Windows I'll play it that way..

Current Unibody Macbook Pro, using the 9600 card, with a Solid State Hardrive.

Buttery smooth.

Watching my sims get depression and cry in glorious vivid realism.

I've read on other forums that they don't see any difference between it running on Windows or OS X.

Keeps crashing on my mac.. Seems to be fairly common thing over at the sims forums.

The game looks horrible on my iMac running NVIDIA GeForce 9400. I havent bumped the settings up yet until this crashing problem is fixed..

However runs smooth as silk

EDIT: WOW.. Stupid me lol.. It does help if i set the res to 1920x1200. Now it looks pretty...

My wife has been playing with it on her iMac for a couple of hours. She's still creating "our family" on it. Creepy.... but runs well.
