I updated my video drivers in Windows (not the bootcamp drivers) and installed the Catalyst Control Center (instead of using ATI Tray Tools), and forced Vsync. No more screen tearing problem.

Anyone else having the same issue as my wife? The time speed thingy doesn't fast forward when the sims are asleep or at work. Pressing the fast forward button doesn't really speed things up either. Makes it pretty boring for her.

Yep, I'm getting the same thing. It sort of speeds up on the second speed setting, but it's not noticeable. The 3rd and 4th settings do nothing.

OS X.... seems to be a fair bit quicker whilst sleeping and both at work. Still not up to 2.0 speeds, but much better.

Where's the update from? Nothing's come up in the Launcher yet.

The game crashed on us, and when I re-started the game it said there was an update available and did I want to download it. I hit yes, and after 3-4 mins of downloading it updated.

So, it was from the game itself.... is there a version number on yours we can compare? Ours says 1.1.45.2 as a version number.

My understanding was that the update was just to bring the Sim Launcher for Mac upto the same level as Sim Launcher for Windows...

Game Updates - The Game - Community - The Sims 3
Release notes: This patch upgrades The Sims 3 launcher for the Mac to have the same functionality as the launcher does on a PC.

I am getting heaps of crashes. One forum member over at the sim forum found turning off time machine all together generally fixes the issue for 90% of people.
That aside I still think this is BS. EA better release a f**ING patch

Oh yeah, the launcher update.

Mine hasn't crashed at all yet. I had it running from 11am Saturday to 3am Sunday morning, then for another 5 hours yesterday, and it was running perfectly. Aside from the jerky animations and my sims having to think for a minute before interacting with each other.
