Default Pelican Case for 13" MBP

Hey All,

I've noticed a few people have recommended a Pelican Case for overseas travel with laptops.

Has anyone matched up a 13" MPB with a Pelican Case? I'm keen to hear what model Pelican Case would be best...

Thanks!

pelican will have a model that will suit, it will be big, heavy and expensive though.

What are you doing overseas?

It'd be a huge pain in the arse to carry a pelican around with you everywhere and as hand luggage.

I've always done fine with my STM backpack. If you're really paranoid put it under the seat infront of you on the plane.

Impressive. How much did it cost you to put all that together?

Its was about $420 for the case, $250 for the battery and a old HD I already had.

Not cheap, but you are protecting a $4500 computer.

Thanks dudes. It looks like Pelican now make special laptop cases - ie. not those crazy military style cases. The 1090 laptop case will apparently fit a 13" MBP nice and snuggly ;-)

That is very cool.
i love the extra battery.

I have been thinking about doing something similar for my macbook, but i only really use it in the field twice a year - and im not spending the money to do it for the work laptop (very slow windows piece of junk)
For now i will just stick with the Crumpler laptop bag i think, has looked after my macbook just fine for a year now (knock on wood)

My Macbook is now 37 months old and going strong. Always in a case when in transport, although I do use it onstage quite a bit, so it gets knocked around. They're durable if you keep them in check.

I'll probably be building a roadcase for it, because I'll be going on Tour soon.
