Hey,
So I'm about to get a Unibody Macbook Pro for uni, and I'm after a cool laptop bag. Along with the macbook it also needs to hold an MBox2 and a pair of large headphones (Beyerdynamic DT770's). Because that amounts to something like $8000 of gear; and I'm on the train everyday, it would be preferable if it didn't look like a traditional laptop bag. Budget up to $150 |

I was in your shoes in September. I was going on holiday to Italy, and I wanted a Laptop bag which didn't look like a laptop bag due to the damb theives!! So, I went to NextByte (Much to my disgust) and bought this...STM Medium Cargo Shoulder Bag - Apple Store (Australia) ---- The reviews are not great, but I've had it for a while (It went everywhere with me in Italy + it still does now in Perth) The only thing you should look out for is.. Make sure you use the actual 'leather' strap on the carry strap.. Otherwise it will eventually fray! Oh, and buy this as well... STM Gloves for 15-inch MacBook Pro - Apple Store (Australia)
THe STM Bag comes with one (The design is similar to a carry bag), but it is not shockproof ect ect... ![]() Enjoy your new toy!!

I've had a STM evolution backpack for a year or so, looks like any other back pack but has a nice soft lined pocket thats also a bit hidden for your laptop. Also has plenty of room for your other stuff.
There's the Rogue too which is a bit newer I believe and also looks a little nicer too. You can see both of the on the apple store, and both are around $150.

I have a Victorinox Werks Travel Messenger bag which I use for my work laptop. I love it.
Victorinox - Messengers - WT Travel Messenger It had one tiny fault about 18mths in. I called the number (in the US) and they told me to take it somewhere where it got sent to the US. A week later I received a DHL or similar package back with my bag in it. I couldn't believe the service. You can buy them at this place in Crows Nest: Victorinox luggage, Victorinox WT, Werks, NXT Mobilizer, Trek Pack Plus. Lowest price guaranteed

I've been to a few events where they like to troll through your bag looking for cameras etc recently and they have yet to find my dSLR or my Macbook in my Crumpler backpack. Sure it's not what you were after, but for security and transportability it's good.
Not sure if it's Milan proof.... but with a truck load of velcro covering the laptop it's hard to open without noticing, and the zips are so tight you can't move them without moving the bag.

Crumpler
Incase STM If those guys don't make a bag you like, then I don't know how to help you. (I personally have an STM Rouge 15" backpack - shoulder style bags are not comfortable with up to 4kg of crap in 'em) |

I use an STM cargo bag... I love it and it has travelled well overseas with me so far. Only issue I have is that when the macbook is in the sleeve, and then in the bag there isn't much room for anything else... But I can't complain too much cos it has super cushion protection and is a real tough bag.

I highly recommed the Incase Nylon Messenger Bag. $139.95 from Apple direct. Had it for a week now and I'm loving it. I can fit my 15" MBP, D40 dSLR, large water bottle and probably room for other crap. Keep in mind though a backpack is much better for your back and shoulder if you intend to load it heavy and carry it for an extended period of time.
I'm usually a shove-MBP-into-glove-and-then-into-any-backpack person, but this? Its awesome. Might do a review of it when I get the chance. |

I regularly carry more than 4kg in a messenger bag, 15km each way on my daily cycle commute. Backpacks are awful sweat traps.

I have two different types of Booq bags and I love them both.
But I can't seen to find them on the Rushfaster store anymore. I have their backpack bag, built very well and sturdy and is a normal backpack that fits the 15" MBP perfectly in the back pocket and protects it, but the two large pockets on the front fit my wallet, headphones, paperwork etc.

For your budget I would probably get a good laptop case and for a fairly non descript bag get something like this
http://www.eshop.puma.com.au/eShop/C...0&tab=&search= If money was no object I would get this one hard graft? you lose what you don't hold |
