I was about to buy a new Macbook after selling my old Rev A MBP coreduo.. until I discovered it had no FW port. what the hell was apple thinking? It's clear that they assume only pro's need FW. In most cases this is true, but so many consumer video camera's (DV/HDV) connect only by FW.

Too bad if your a musician/dj/podcaster and use a FW pre-amp, midi interface, etc. You will need to buy a Macbook Pro or a desktop.

Yeh I'm kinda with you on this one.

That's alot of money to take the word of someone who's working at the place that is selling you said item.

It didn't take much to find out whether or not they did have firewire. Quick look at Apple specs or google.
