You're right about the Dell Mini 12 choy. In doing some research I discovered you can't bump it up to 2GB as there's slot and the drive is PATA, so I can't get anything faster.
The Wind is nice, I must admit. Might be an impulse buy once this cheque clears

I'm also very tempted by this. I'd love a Macbook Air, but it way too expensive for my needs. A small netbook running OS X would be perfect. I'll be keeping a close eye on this thread. It will be interesting to read about other mactalkers experiences doing this. Unless of course Apple bring out their very own netbook soon.

Can you guys please explain to me what would be the difference between a 6cell and a 3cell batt? I'm comparing netbooks, would like one , but am very new at this. And although I am a Mac user (have an Imac), am no way techno savvy enough to be a Hackintosh so will probably have to just use the netbook on the OS it comes with (Linus or XP). Trying to follow the info on the www re: making netbooks OS X compatible made my head hurt

I do agree with you regarding the iPhone. Whilst it is great to check emails on the run, fire back quick / short replies... I can't imagine relying on it for all my email requirements on the road. Quote:

Bought an MSI Wind U100 for $599 with 2GB RAM/6 cell Battery from orangeit.com.au in Sydney CBD.
I am running XP and Windows 7 Beta (currently dual boot). I have done an install of OS X to see how it went from an external DVD drive. All worked fine and was very seamless. Back running Windows 7 for the time being.
