I don't mind that it only shows what's up in the next hour or so. Maybe a good middle ground solution would be to have the channel logos as links to the station's full program.

i can do that i guess.
its an xml feed so it should work nicely in safari 2.0 in tiger
the widget is designed to only show 3 shows and i dont want to change that.its not meant to be a full blown tv guide.
its impossible to add moreinfo without it taking a huge amound off space.
as it is now if you have more then 10-15 channels it will take the hight of your screen
Now what i am willing to do is make a second widget that shows every show for a specified channel for the current day.
it would again take alot of height so i would think splitting into 6 hour groups and having a way to navigate between them would be the best way.(it would also be able to show the first 6 hours of the next day)
the widget would have as many channels as you want but only ever show 1 at a time.i would have navigation to move between channels.
i have no problem making that widget if you guys want it

No dramas! The original widget idea is fine. I was looking for a possible EPG for EyeTV, thinking this widget may be a possibility. I have emailled the author of ITVeye a few weeks back, but received no response :-(
Anybody had a look at yahoo's tv guide? I'm no wizz on "web stuff", but it seems that the guide just changes with a few numbers in the URL (which follow a simple pattern). Is this how people get the guide into their own programs, but adjusting the numbers in the URL?

I can't wait to actually be able to use widgets.
One of the great things about them is that it'll clean up your dock... you'll only need the larger apps in there. Everything else can be a widget.
Another widget idea (but might be hard to implement): Printer queue. It's another one of those things you just want to look at for a second, but it currently still takes up dock space.

Yet another widget idea: "Extra dock" -- A launcher for apps and utils that don't get used too much. You'd lose some of the functionality of the dock (no drag and drop), but it'd be slightly handier that going to the finder and hitting Apple-shift-A or Apple-shift-U then finding what you're after.

Lol.
I'm not suggesting you code every idea!
They're just concepts, and hopefully will spark more ideas from others.
We can then cherry-pick the best ones.
And yeah, I'm sure that printer idea would be very hard to implement.

ideas are good.
most widgets can be created in under a day if they dont need plugins.
keep the ideas coming
i could probably do that dock one but ill have to consider a few things regarding getting icons out of app bundles and if i can make it work with apps outside the applications folder.

Maybe it could read aliases from a folder. Similar to the way Apple Menu Items used to be.

possibly.
the widget would be limited.
you would have to type in the exact name of the app and it would need to be in the applications folder.
it can work but im not sure how well so at this stage i dont think ill make it

quick update...
tv guide widget has been delayed for a few reasons but it will be much better then i originally planned.it now downloads several days worth of feeds and it caches them so you can run the widget while your offline.the files are stored in your user library and are automatically updated twice a week and the old files are moved to the trash.
eyetv intergration is done.it add the start time and length aswell as the title.i cant add descriptions as the feed i use desnt provide them for most shows.
i added the preference system last week so you can now add/remove channels.
i still have alot to do and i have to manually maintain feeds for adelaide/darwin/canberra which is taking some time at the moment.
i may release a beta to selected people as soon as this weekend and the first public release will hopefully be early next week
