Areal - Wow. Fantastic photograph. Can you give the camera and location details?

Tried to capture the energy of the wind today. I would have liked to set a long exposure, but this was the best I could manage with a point & shoot. Also, whirlwinds don't happen when you're looking...

Seems to me to be luck and persistence I'll keep trying until I get the perfect one I took about 100 shots of the storm front that produced the above shot. I had about 95 pictures of boring old clouds and about 5 shots with lightning actually in frame.Exposure seems to be the biggest problem I have found. There is probably some easy way of doing it that I have yet to find.

Photographing lightening would be really hard. I've never actually tried it, but if I ever did here's how I would do it..
1) Fast Shutter Speed
2) Wide Angle Lens
3) Shooting on 'Continuous High' at 4 FPS until I get the right shot
Since it's really just a hit and miss thing, continuously releasing the shutter increases the chance of getting the right shot. Having the wide angle lens would increase the view of the photo (which is generally good for lightening) and having a fast shutter speed will stop the lightening, making it nice and sharp.
I'd also consider bracketing to again increase the chance of getting the right exposure.
All this is just my own knowledge, so don't go by it expecting to get pro shots :P

Another one while I'm in a posting mood
Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe

Pretty hard to get a good shot because of all the spray, I was soaked by the end of the day and so was my poor little canon
Some more pics here http://members.iinet.net.au/~tungsten/africa.html if anyone is interested some OK some not so good but I'm still learning.
