I reckon that's the way to take a night shot - plenty of colour in the sky. This relates to what I said about Lutze's sunset shot. Night shots with a lot of empty black sky get very boring very quickly. Also, it's easier to get a good exposure if the sky isn't black.

What have you done to the first two images? They look almost dream like!

HDR on all 3 images to differing degrees.
Garden path received a slight bump in saturation and a small push towards blue in tint to correct WB.
Enclosure received an increase in lumiosity, saturation and light mapping to give it a surreal look.
Little Man was is pretty much as the shot was taken but I increased contrast to bring out the wood better. Small bump in tint to get rid of yellow cast from sun.

Sunset over the bushland across from my house a few minutes ago
I like this one better, but I didn't see the spiderweb when I was taking it

Nice photos Goodbye,
But would it be possible to add relevant info regarding camera type, lens, shutter speed etc. so that those of use who want to learn can get a bit of an idea as to what others are using and doing.
I think this should apply to all photos submitted.
Thanks Mark

I think the first one is really nicely composed. Could possibly benefit from a slight crop to the right hand side to focus the picture more. Colour is sharp and clear with a nice exposure.
Second one is sharp and clear however I think, personally, that the exposure was maybe too long - the water looks too flat on the fall - maybe because there is not much actually falling (just a guess but doesn't look too full on). You've got lots of good colour in it with the gold from behind the fall showing nicely.
I think next up - I'd love to know where they were taken!

They were taken at the Buderim Rainforest Park, near where I live. And you're right, there wasn't a massive amount of water flowing.

I really like them - and for your first trip out with the new camera, they are fantastic. I would crop the top one in a little tighter, and perhaps mix some exposures (HDR) in Photoshop to darken down some really bright spots and brighten up some of the dark. Are you shooting in RAW? Did you play with the exposures in Camera Raw/Lightroom/Aperture/iPhoto?

Is that just down from the main shopping area, along the pathway?
I have been told about the area, and have been looking forward to taking the camera for a walk along there.
