I suspect your iBook has gone the way of the dreaded logic board failure, but try ..
- Pull RAM from the user-upgradable slot - Disconnect battery and leave the iBook unused for 24 hours (to reset PRAM etc). - Place firm pressure on the left handrest of your iBook before booting it up (this is where the graphics chipset resides and is the focal point of said logic board failure!) Reset PRAM ...start machine after tone hold down Apple key , option key and P+R Keys until you hear tone again and release...PRAM Reset. or after tone.. Apple = Option keys +O+F Keys, wait for White screen. type.. Reset-nvram (enter) Reset-all(enter) you have rest open firmware.

So could it be a faulty battery then, thats causing the computer not to start up?
