3dward,
Like the fact that "Balders" has no apostrophe.
Shades of "Finnegans Wake" and "Howards End" ??
The "Freo Doctor" thing is at the Gaulon site:

Just cruising around looking at folks' stories including this interesting one from a pal in Singapore:
http://www.storykitchen.com/
What I think he and the Gaulon boys are doing is to get writers and graphix/photos/etc. people together to make truly multimedia stories available on the web.
Beyond the novel, beyond the graphic novel, beyond animι....
Now that could be a real MacTalk community project??
Anyway ... my 2’.

Not wishing to put anyone off my writing... but here's a few pieces I wrote a *cough* decade+ ago... they were all from Year 12, 1995... and all subsequently published in either VoiceWorks magazine, or in one case, a small town newspaper.
Incidentally, the website is also... nearly... a decade old - I've just re-uploaded it, as that seemed the easiest way to make these old bits of writing available.
Coming soon however, will be some more recent pieces... probably in script format rather than prose, seems that is what I'm hoping to make of my life...

I think in the interest of readability of the thread. Links to your writing would be preferred.
If you need a place to host your writing. I am willing to offer to host on my website.
This offer is open to other MacTalkers who need a place online for their writings to live.
Either PM me or send email. Contact details on my site. Check my signature at bottom of post.

There has to be a better way than either.

There's a scary similarity between Balders Ordeal and my Coma City. Great minds do think alike.
Mine, however, needs more refining. The version in the link is not current but I won't update it until I've sorted out a few things when I get back into the full swing of writing... which I really should focus on

mctext: I left out the apostrophe for several reasons, the main two being it looks better and my grammar/spellings skills leave much to be desired It's a working title anyway, might change one of these days.
Bart: There is something hauntingly beautiful about a deserted cityscape (watch the latest version of I am legend, it's beautiful how nature reclaims the world) that just captures my imagination. I like where your story is headed. Have you ever read Z for Zachariah, worth a read.
Some great stories everyone, I didn't get much work done today, I was too busy reading! I'm sure there are a few more closet writers out there, don't be shy! If anyone want's a place to park a PDF and link back here I have a few mb spare, just PM me.
Also updated my site and dug up an old story and added it for your viewing pleasure (written a while ago, so be gentle)

Cool! Let's keep it up guys! Getting very good writing so far. But I'm sure there is more out there.
Don't be shy! We won't bite. It's the weekend, so you now have no excuse not send in the link to that long-forgotten short story.
Again, if you need a place to host your writing online. Just PM me.

There's many stories of deserted city's/worlds - Day of the Triffids was on ABC2 on Saturday night, it had been a long time since I'd last seen it. I think that one's due for a remake like I am Legend, which I haven't seen as yet (I did recently watch Omega Man again though, will be interesting to compare the two since they originated from the same novel) - Not only is it interesting how nature reclaims the world but how a survivor (or a small group) can manage without all the things they had become accustomed to. Just finding a meal can become a struggle.
I haven't read Z is for Zachariah, I'll look out for it. I have to admit though, all these end-of-the-world stories make me worry that my book will just look like a copy. I broke out in cold sweats when I saw the preview to I am Legend... but at least there's no infected/zombies/vampires in my tale. The protagonists main worry is time.
Thanks to this thread I've been back at the keyboard a few times. Probably only added a few hundred words but that's a vast improvement on nothing
