Welcome Kuzey - you've got to be from one of the most far-flung locations out of any AppleTalk member with a reasonable number of postings. I went through Izmir when travelling between Chanakkale and Denizli back in April. It was very hot even then! The locals laughed at us and told us that there was worse to come. Sounds like they were right!
I hope you can sign up and join the new Flickr group this topic has established - it would be great to see some of your photos from that amazing part of the world. I love Turkey!

I came to Izmir in mid March but left all my negatives back home in Melbourne
I went to Chanakkale in April as well, but a week before Anzac day and before we reached the Australian section we were forced to turn back. Something about big wigs taking a photo opportunely and they wouldn't let anybody through. I'm going to get there one of these days and see Anzac Cove :P
Did you come on your own or as part of a tour group. I'm trying to find interesting people to photograph at the moment...would love to find some Gallipoli veterans and what not.
I'll bookmark the link and join as soon as I can.
All the best,
Kuzey

Picked up a Canon 400D + twin lens kit on Saturday.
Feels a bit cheap but it's fun to use.

The Pentax smc P-DA 12-24mm F4.0 ED/AL (IF) is an *excellent* lens. Not sure where you'd find it in Australia though.
