Trash all the prefrences and download the latest revision http://www.icetv.com.au/cgi-bin/downloads....t_file&number=2 (I think there might have been a few problems with the first downloads of 1.24)

Hi Joz, can you please follow these instructions and let me know if it helps. It's important to make sure the widget is closed before deleting the prefs. - Open Dashboard so that the widget can be seen.
- Press the big + symbol on the bottom left of the dashboard. This will open the Dashboard tray and make the widgets close buttons visible (the white X on the top left of each widget).
- Close the IceTV widget by clicking it's close button.
- Hide Dashboard.
- Delete the preference file called "widget-com.icetv.widget.plist" in "/Library/Preferences".
- Open Dashboard.
- Press the big + symbol to open the Dashboard tray.
- Click on the IceTV widget icon in the Dashboard tray to start a new instance of the widget (you may need to click on the < and > arrows to find it if you have a lot of widgets installed).
Also, the IceTV server currently limits the amount of times the widget can fetch the guide per day. This is to protect the server from run away widgets It's not an issue under normal use, but we've had the occasional widget exceed the limit... basically, if that's happened to you then the widget will come good tomorrow. If not, and the instructions above don't help, then please let me know and I'll do all I can to help.

Thanks for that marc. Just followed your steps exactly, but it's still the same.
So.. I just logged into my icetv account on the website and it says "Expiry: 29/07/06 (expired)".. which would be when it stopped working I think. I'm only using the free service, so it looks like something odd is going on with my account.

Ah! If that's the case, then just sign up for another free account.
Do that here: http://www.icetv.com.au/cgi-bin/webwidget.cgi
I don't know why the free widget accounts don't last forever. I think they're set to 12 months right now.

I'll have a word to the guys. You're right, we should probably just up the time on all widget accounts right now.

I tried making a new account and it still didn't work. I hate all the account and membership stuff anyway, why bother for the free stuff?
Well I can't be bothered, I'll just bookmark a webpage or something, iceTV is gone. Sorry guys.

I now have the same problem.
Widget all shows / channels display "Expired" and when I went into my account - which was a free one... it has it is expired?
Or is this their plan? Sign up for a free account - get hooked on the widget then make us pay?

There was like a 1 year limit on the account I think. All you do is just sign up for another account on their site and it should re-activate for another year. Give it a shot and see what happens.

i got mine back up and running by deleting the plist file in library/preferences and joining up with a new email account (different from my previous one.) I guess that'll rule out most people though on the grounds of tech ignorance or laziness.
