hmmm some really nice abstract stuff there, Pyro! Do you have any at 1024x768, or even bettter 1280x854 resolution that I could use as a wallpaper?
The firey colours are very nice...
EDIT: and fitting for someone with "PYRO" in their name...

i've got lots of stuff. this one, which i did 2 nights ago, was a 30 min experiment in photoshop overkill.
As for pipsqeeks reality check on entering the industry.. it is somewhat true - not for me though.
I just graduated design at Uni a few weeks ago. I was lucky enough to get (win?) a three month internship with a great local studio, who have subsequently decided to put me on full time. Directors are looking for someone who knows what they're doing and why. Of real importance is an understanding and application of the science of design. There are specific rules and theories which you'll only gain by doing research or attending design events (there are a few big ones each year). Additional writing skills are also a plus.
There are a lot of people out there calling themselves designers, when they're quite simply not. If you're serious about design, fire up google and research the theories behind design, typography, colour theory etc. Go to agda.com.au, click winners, and look at other studio's sites and porfolios. Design is a serious professional career requiring a professional attitude and application of knowledge - design courses are a good start, but the rest is up to you!

Yeah yeah, I can send 'em though via email for you if you want. Just let me know the resolutions you want for each and I'll zip the lot and fire an email your way.

Art can be anything you made with your imagination, hands and tools.
That's the way I look at it.

This was one of two T-shirt designs I made for Apple's eWorld service.
It was made on a IIsi in Adobe Illustrator. As you can imagine it took quite a while to do on such a slow system. Screen redraws were so slow that I had to work in outline mode and only jump into preview when I went to make a cup of tea as it took that long to render.
A limited number of T-shirts were made and distributed to key members of the eWorld team around the world.

What sort of method did you use to make those?
Water-colours on thick board, or oil on a canvas? Or is it all digital?

Two flyers made for Blah Blah Cafe, on Oxford St in Sydney in 1995, created using illustrator and photoshop.
