Default increasing signal strength?

i'm currently using telstra cable... its great.. how ever i have a slight problem.. we have the cable over 1 side of the house... whilst the computer is over the other side...

so by the time the signal gets to my MBP from the time capsule its alot slower than what we get.. i have bought a faster and more powerful router.. but the TC is much better...

any way around it short of either getting a longer cable.. and no i can't just take my laptop closer when i need the net....

any help would be greatly appreciated!!

You could try and set up the other router you got then set up the Time Capsule to extend your wireless network. I've never tried it with a non Apple wireless networking devices.

High gain antenna or ethernet cable + another WAP on the otherside of the house.

Better yet, HomePlugs. Turn your house wiring into a building-wide ethernet network. There's a few different brands (D-Link, T-Link, Belkin, Panasonic, Netcomm) but they're all compatible, and approx. $130 will get you a starter pack of two pods. One goes into a power point near your cable modem, the other pod somewhere more central in the house. Short ethernet cable from pod to device, and you're away. No drivers, no fuss, and much faster than wireless.

Agreed with Brains.
Use the home plugs to relocate your TC to a better position in the house, for either wired or wireless networking.
