Default Whats your expirience with Factory seconds / outlets?

What are peoples experiences with factory seconds and outlets ?

In particular electronics such as tv's, dvd players and home theater?

Any bad stories or things you should look out for ?

I bought a dvd player from one of these so called factory seconds outlets.

It was a pile of shit. Didn't work as it should, took it back and had all manner of hassles getting my money back.

Went to a large reputable store and bought a brand new one of the same thing for exactly the same price and never had a problem.

However my parent's bought a fridge from an outlet and it was pretty much brand new.

Guess it pays to check out the actual item you will be walking out of the store with really. Not just the demo one.
