Default Help me get my Tomtom to really help me!

Hi all,

I have a new Tomtom One v4 which I recently bought for a bit of work I'm doing which is effectively a set list of callout addresses I have to hit to perform maintenance and then move on to the next address (repeat and rinse)

I'm trying to find the most simple way to basically take a list of addresses and job numbers on a daily basis from our job allocation system, throw it into a tomtom itinerary file or something, and throw it up on the tomtom. In order to be useful it's gotta be:

1) Quick. I wanna pull all the jobs out of our ticketing system assigned to me which are typically centered in one postcode, and then geolocate them based on address (or get the tomtom to do this). We typically do 30-40 jobs/day. Yes it's in and out.

2) Preferably allow me to see the results on on a Google Maps mashup or something, and select waypoints I want to be included in a group to be included in a route. That way I can maximise my time by focussing on where there is a high number of jobs.

3) Be able to automatically create the most direct route from A to Z via B, C D and so on in that focussed group of waypoints. This is pretty much the same as the Tomtom Navigate To feature where I want to go via another place on the way.

So I just want something I can use daily to pull a list of addresses, dump them into something, a CSV or whatever. Then have those addresses Geolocated, let me exclude the remote ones (we can do those last) and then create a route where I start at one end and finish at the other via a direct route on the way. Sounds simple but...of course... it probably isn't.

So far I've tried getting the addresses, dumping them into Map Multiple Locations by Address, then taking the resultant KML file and throwing it at a Windows program calld Tyre – tyre.tk. Great to a point but then it gets fiddly when it's time to actually edit that route, having to individually move waypoints up and down the list is excruciating!!! And even then I still don't know if the output file it creates for the Tomtom is in fact compatible with the ONE v4.

*sigh* if only Apple got into sat-nav or geolocating stuff this would be a non-issue...

Thanks!

if you can put them in google maps, you can upload that to your GPS unit.... just means you might have to do some manual labor
