I've got quite a few external HDDs and none of them work, even when self powered, yet a USB Flash Drive will show pictures as a slide show.

The drive I was using was my M9 drive, which has an Oxford 911 (or whatever) chipset...

I have the MyBook drive now... though it's all formatted now as Mac OS...
