Have you checked to see if you've been capped?

Capped as in gone over your broadband download quota.

There is no way I could have gone over my broadband download quota as, I haven't downloaded anything excluding safari as it was only a 1.81KB download and I could not have exceeded my limit as its is very high.

You know that being online and visiting websites (like Youtube) counts as downloading, yeah?

Your definition of very high might not actually be very high.

Things for you to check:

- ISP "Quota" online
- Sync rate of your modem
- If there is any scheduled maintenance being done by your ISP
- Quality and condition of cables you are using to connect everything
- If it is ADSL then check your Line filters.

Well, for the first, ask the account holder, they'll have the account details you need to log in to the provider website. This will also allow you to find out about the third.

Most people tell me with straight faces that they never download anything, then i explain to them that youtube is downloading data too, the next question is where is it putting it on my computer

Seriously though, 7gb a month would be pretty easy to go over.

Which actually isn't really unlimited. This is turning into an ISP thread.
