It's times like this, you need a quarter pounder.

you have got to be taking the piss. EXPLAIN how parramata westfields is one of/.if not the most successful stores of the company.

i suggest you head out that way one day and open your eyes, if not, go hide in your part of sydney and stick to stereotypes.

if i was to follow your logic, sticking a store in hornsby will attract all the central coast bogan bludgers.

on a note, i do not live in parramatta, nor surrounding areas but frequent the store as its one of the better places to go shop.

This morning's opening was definitely a very subdued event compared to the City Store's opening... I could tell from the get go. When I got there, hardly anyone had rocked up yet so I ended up being fourth into the store. There was hardly any media either at the 8am media open.

It's a cool little store with friendly, but slightly hyper staff (and yeah, today's opening had a number of staff that I recognised from the City store working). There are a couple of photos up on my blog (link in signature).

Yes it is a cool little store - rocked up this afternoon - it looked quite full - didn't stop too long but I am sure my lunch times will be very expensive from now on... like the main store in Sydney, Apple is showing all other computer retailers just how they should have done their stores...

Why didn't any enterprising sole visit the US and steal Apple's retailing ideas months/years before Apple opened their first store here?

Why?

because if you have not noticed, Apple Retail sells and promotes, purely "Apple Products"

That being said, other computer retailer have to cater for a wide range of brands! sony, HP, etc!

There have been purely apple retail stores in the city! But they were just offical. Resellers and not "Apple Retail"!

Any pictures up of what the t-shirts look like?

Also it's very interesting to see some of the staff at this store's opening as seen at the opening of the city store.

My point is that you can do this sort of cool store with Dell, HP, Lenovo or any other top shelf PC maker's products - instead the best the market could offer before Apple showed em how was Harvey Norman and, well..., enough said really.

The Apple store concept is just too good - it's like an Armani or Hugo Boss store for geeks... fantastic...

Before this thread dies it's death.
I said before my family of 4 were in there just before 11am - spent about 40mins inside.
My little three year old became a star for a while. The staff loved her. A few photo's and video taken of her as she played an online game on the Air! She was having a great time. Enjoyed getting her shirt as well and didn't want to leave until we bribed her with a hot choc.
I asked a few questions of the ever willing staff. Stumped them. Not that that I was trying to.
The wife got bits of advice.
Several staffers happily spoke about Maccentric which is just 100m down the road from Chatswood Chase.
The T-shirts are black - say Apple Chatswood on the front and something about Cupertino (from memory) on the back.
Great, simple layout in the store. Quite a few third party accessories in there.

Went into David Jones afterwards cause they normally have a good range of Apple gear too. They've reworked the section and it looks really good with the additions of Sony, Bose and Loewe (one of my favourites) selling points - chock full of gear. These are really good!

The advantage for us is that Chatswood is nice and close - we felt inclined to develop a relationship w/ the Apple shop to learn more about the programmes (after all that's why I use the gear!!).
