Congratulations! Hope you enjoy it very much and well done on getting it for a great price!

Welcome and congrats on the 'scam' - nah... sensible practice... makes sense, if they want to price match they can and they did... may as well have it work in your favour.

Enjoy your experience...

I saved an utter packet on a Bose system by walking into a David Jones and saying that Next Byte had offered me a system at X price, well and truly under what it should be. Basically made up one on the spot.

No questions asked just a 'Oh yeah, I guess'

If they'd said no, I would have bought it anyway. Fun times.

At my store if any of my staff request a price match I will always take a copy of it, and if it is stupid pricing I will ask the product Rep next time they are in to shed some light, i.e. better margins, over stocked or genuine clearance etc.

Just my 2 cents, but I would prefer a slightly more expensive Mac and my job than unemployed and a $50.00 cheaper one.
And why would Apple care? Apple can't legally force or coerce a store into selling Macs or iPods at a certain price.
