Transmission/Yahoo Cams not working - wireless prob?

Hey guys. Would appreciate any help i can get on this.

Im having issues using Transmission and webcams on yahoo messenger. I have portforwarded the port used by transmission and in advanced it says "port open", yet torrents fail to start. They just sit there not connecting to any peers.

As with yahoo, if someone invites me to view there cam and i press accept, it just sits there saying "starting webcam...." and never connects/loads.

I have a router (connected to optus cable), but have portforwarded most of the yahoo/transmission ports. Ive never had to port forward before though (a week ago i was on pc), and since changing to mac it seems I now have to?

Is there some sort of inbuilt firewall on leapord that could be affecting connecting to things by these programs?

If you haven't touch the inbuilt firewall no need to worry it won't be having any affect.

Which version of transmission are you trying to use?

Also which port number is transmission using?

You may need to check the port fordwarding is actually working in the router it sometimes doesn't for as yet unknown reasons.

I am on a similar connection setup but with an airport extreme and Linksys router running ddwrt firmware and all work wells and transmission may well be part of the problem knowing which version will help figure it out.

Im using the newest transmission, 1.10. im guessing the port forwarding is working because it says port open when you do the check in the transmission settings. neither tomato torrent, or bitrocket work either, however it now appears azureus is working... but still the peer number is really low (doesnt connect to many) and therefore is quite slow

should i enable upnp on my router settings?

Some torrent sites may require the upnp setting to be active for the connection to them.

Transmission 1.11 is out also

I am still on transmission 0.82 due to odd issues like you are seeing with pretty much any version of 1.0 onwards.
