If its legal then there is no issue. We dont need any more debate on whether its "right" or not

its very doubtful its legal, its certainly in breach of the agreed terms & conditions and as i have raised previously - i am yet to find a single user who has sucessfully made a claim using an APP that was purchased OS for a computer purchased in australia by an australian resident.

I was in Canada at the time when I purchased APP for my MPB, have had no problems getting an entire new screen for it when it died under Apple care. Yet I purchased the Macbook in Australia.

Maybe we should be checking our facts rather than jumping to assumptions? Straight from the horse's mouth:
Quote:
Where can I purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan?
The AppleCare Protection Plan is available at the online Apple Store, Apple retail stores, and many Apple Authorized Resellers. Apple recommends that you purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan in your country of residence, because each AppleCare Protection Plan has terms and conditions specific to consumers of the country or region in which the plan is offered. Please see the AppleCare Protection Plan Terms and Conditions for complete details.

What does “global repair coverage” mean?
If you take your Apple hardware with you when you travel and happen to need repair service, the AppleCare Protection Plan offers global repair coverage. You can either go to an Apple retail store or contact Apple for information on how to obtain service. Service will be limited to the options available in the country where service is requested. Service options, parts availability, and response time vary according to country. Please see the AppleCare Protection Plan Terms and Conditions for complete details.
Note that it says recommends, not requires

I have made 2 claims using applecare purchased OS- no problems what so ever- how many times does this have to be questioned? it's legit.

Furthermore desktops as well as portables are now covered under applecare outside the original country of purchase.

Put simply- buying applecare at full price is just fucking stupid.

MODS please can you close this thread? I think it has run its typical course. Thanks.
