I had a phone interview with a woman from a recruiting company (representing Apple Australia) about the positions. She said they'd be in touch within a month or so... They're in no specific hurry to find anyone, and the positions don't start till later this year.

My interview was probably with the same woman.. said a month to me also which is now well and truly up.. at that stage they had 3000 applicants. They have now advertised even more widely so I think the wait will be a lot longer.

Yeah i've had my phone interview, i was told they may not call back for quite a while due to the large response,
However i am interested in this: anyone else who got a phone interview how did it go? for me and a mate we were grilled (in the good way i suppose) and they were very thorough leaving me feeling sort of violated LOL

All the usual stuff,
But then she was asking me why i wanted to move from a call center to a retail store,
Why, with my previous experience i would want to work for apple and it was alright because that's how interviews work, but she was pointing out discrepancies in my resume and what i had said ( i have a terrible memory and didn't have a copy of my resume with me at the time )
I can't remember exactly what it was, but it was very thorough and she wanted to know everything! - my mate had the same experience but i am guessing it's because we A) Currently work for a top-5 manufacturer of PC's or B) it was like that for everyone.

Hopefully they pay more than $15 a hour, 24 hours a day, no overtime, like hardly normal.

Apple has a heap of jobs they want filled by the look of it:
http://www.apple.com/jobs/au/store/
Jobs were also just listed on seek today, so they're still on the lookout, evidently
Digital Arists/Trainers
http://it.seek.com.au/users/apply/in...&JobID=9042626
Mac Genius
http://it.seek.com.au/users/apply/in...&JobID=9042644
Mac Genius
http://it.seek.com.au/users/apply/in...&JobID=9042659
All advertised yesterday. So, if anyone is interested... I'm sure a few hundred extra applications won't make a huge difference to the poor person weeding through the applications

I had a phone interview today with a woman from a recruiting company. She told me she'd be in touch within a week. So it looks like the next round of interviews aren't too far off
