'Evening everyone, just a quick question about the copyright protection of the Apple logo. If I'm using it in an assignment for school (I'm making a program for a hypothetical Apple Store in Brisbane ) do I need to put a disclaimer at the end acknowledging all that copyright info? It would look fancy and maybe professional, but is it necessary?

i dont think that it would be a problem ... unless you plan on selling said assignment on ebay claiming that it is an 'Official Apple Document' or something :P

but id put a disclaimer there just to make it look more official

Apple have guidelines up just for how their trademarks etc should be used, at http://www.apple.com/legal/trademark...rdparties.html

2. Apple Logo and Apple-owned Graphic Symbols: You may not use the Apple Logo or any other Apple-owned graphic symbol, logo, or icon on or in connection with web sites, products, packaging, manuals, promotional/advertising materials, or for any other purpose except pursuant to an express written trademark license from Apple, such as a reseller agreement.

That basically says, technically, no you can't... at least not without an express written license from Apple to do so.

Well, seeing as I am not advertising for Apple, or creating a product, or doing anything in the "real world" (I'm living in "assignment world" at the moment...) I think I shall use the logo (it makes the assignment look really professional...) and acknowledge it by saying The Apple Logo is a trademark of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. That's what it said to do on the Apple PR site [thanks Danamania].
