A great Apple Reseller

Hi All,

Firstly, I hope this is not a conflict of interest for MacTalk(as they are a sponsered site) but I would like to comment on the actions of a Melbourne Reseller.

As some of you may be aware(if you have been following the TNT thread) I received a new(for me anyway) G5 PowerMac on Tuesday afternoon in less than pristine condition(thanks TNT). I contacted the reseller - NewWave Systems in Burwood East VIC to inform them of what had happened. Even though it wasn't their fault, without hesitation they offered me a replacement system, that they would send out immediately.

This mean't they would incur the cost of sending me the new G5 and me sending back the trashed G5. As I am on hols anyway I thought bugger it I would drive from my place to Melbourne(around 6 hours each way)and drop off the wrecked machine, and personally bring home the new one(for some reason I didn't trust TNT). When I arrived they showed me the replacement machine (which was in mint conditon) and also handed me some money(lunch on NewWave Systems as such).

I know I saved them the cost of the courier but they didn't have to do any of the above( they could have hit me with the old buyer beware.

It does not get any better than that.

So let me say, if you need a new or second hand machine, I personally recommend NewWave Systems - Ruby St Burwood East VIC.

That is awesome! I'm glad to see success stories for the resellers when they do happen as there are a few good people working at these places.

That is awesome news.

Congrats on the solution. That is so cool to have a reseller that has taken full responsibility and kept you a happy customer. It's places like that, that will keep their customers for years to come. I trust you'll be one of those customers to them.

And for the record I dealt with David and Matt, it was slack of me not to mention it in the original post.

That's the way it should be.

Although I feel bad that they are out of pocket, especially when you consider that they are not the 'big guys' and Apple have made a packet of money out of them both times which, knowing how bad Apple are to resellers, they'll probably never get anything back!

I say all members should support them where possible, just like we support the companies that advertise on this site - enough money to go around I say!

Thanks for the sentiment, fortuneately the machine was preloved so the out of pocket expenses for them are not so bad. As the internals seemed to be OK, I think they will probably migrate them into a replacement case.

But you are right I would love to see them get some support, as I think they did a great job and you hear of some of the bad resellers out there, it's nice to know there are some really good ones.

I would also like to add, it's nice that a machine can cop a bad hit like that and it still worked. Not that this one will receive such a hit.

I wish somebody could have a similar story for a reseller in Sydney, although I very much doubt it after what I've experienced with them here.

Good resellers sort things out the right way.
Another reseller which i had a good experience with is support it.
I bought my imac through ebay of them.
Great contact all the time. I had some issues with my screen and Steve helped me out the right way.
everything works fine now and i am a happy mac owner.

Anyone know of or had good experience with resellers in Brisbane or Gold Coast Qld?

i could tell an even better story with Frequency Communications in Sydney, what they have done for me over the years that i have been using them is way beyond any reasonable expectation.

the fact that i live in a remote part of the NT and use a sydney reseller tells part of the story, the after sales service and support they have provided me has been outstanding.

they are also fantastic with feedback, i have a couple of items being repaired on warranty at the moment and they ring me at every stage of the process and update me.

they even paid the freight to return one of the items to me once it was repaired.
