Thursday is gonna be a challenge for those lining up.
Perhaps Decryption can sing us some songs around his portable BBQ, or find other ways to entertain us?

From the SMH back in August last year:

According to Alex Alamsyah of Knight Frank retail services, another new shopping complex planned for the old Westpac site on the corner of King and George streets is set to house a flagship Apple Computer store, which will take up 3000 square metres over the ground, first and second floors. Rebel Sports is to make its new home in the basement.
|
Any sign of the Rebel Sport in the basement? I hope it doesn't lower the tone too much - their stores are pretty much the antithesis of Apple's in terms of design.

Hey if it's the new Apple store I'm sure it was much appreciated!
edit: How awesome is that location - it's next to McDonalds! I'm sure they'll appreciate the extra flow of visitors!

Still an Apple fan but cannot forgive them for pulling FireWire support from the MacBooks!

I don't get it.
How do people get to the Genius Bar when the store is closed? It's on the third level.
Ricky.

I was coming out of the Strand Arcade opposite the store just as the last piece of black plastic was coming down. Lots of photo's being taken by people on the street, inc. those waiting for evening buses at the Strand bus stop. Also a very excited little posse running across George Street squealing and taking pics (with iPhones and mobiles). Store staff (wearing blue paper shoe covers (ala operating theatre) out on the street and doing stuff in the store to the cheers of the excited photographers.
All in all an odd experience.

They are locked in. You wait in line and they announce what name they will be getting to...
