As much as I hate to think of it, I think that the first store will be in Sydney because let's face it - if Steve named an iMac "flavour" after Bondi, then the chances are that the first store will be there. Not that there's anything wrong with Sydney, but I'd love to get there without flying!
...Melbourne would follow shortly after

I think there was a rumour that Apple would open two - a larger one in Sydney and a smaller one in Melbourne?

Logic dictates - it has to be Alice Springs - well, that's the most central point anyways...
But so... I know there was some big-ass glass ensconced "Apple Store" opened in NYC recently... Is Apple now cutting out the "AppleCentre" type arrangement and dealing direct with customers? What happens to all the existing dealers?

I predict a barrage of replies will have the names "sydney" and "melbourne" in it... 5-7 pages later... I'll stand out and say Adelaide!

all the apple stores i have seen are in really high profile places and very trendy so perhaps a more interesting question might be what possible locations in those cities could an apple store open? but yeah definitely melbourne or sydney.
